Currently Available Works
All of these stories are one form of horror or another. Some of these
are going into a novel I am currently working on. All my works are quite
different from one another and I believe it is hard to tell that they are
from the same person.

This previously published fiction piece is the foundation for my novel. I
retired from pursuing publishing short stories after this piece, as I
finally decided it was simply not profitable for me, considering all my
projects and such. A famous short story writer once said that you have to
be able to write and sell a short story a day, to make it profitable. I'm
satisfied with my pursuit of larger formats.
This story is online and available (in ASCII Text and Zipped format)
for download.
It was originally published in a hardcopy magazine quarterly called,
"Haunts" back in the Fall/Winter issue of 1990.
"In Memory..." is the story of an
internationally famous surgeon who tries to save the life of his
lost son's best friend. This young friend of both the Doctor and
his son (lost up the Amazon on expedition), is dying due to experiments
that he was performing. However, this young man, a genius in his own
right, has an agenda all his own. An agenda that will kill all advertising
in the U.S., subvert the nation's media and moral structure, and
eventually affect the entire world. Are this young genius' good
intentions...legitimate?
A very "genre" horror tale about a rather unusual, female
hitchhiker; one of a type that you seldom come across; still in her
pursuit of high adventure; still at that stage in life where she is
confused and looking for guideance; and, the disinterested traveller that
picks her up one dark night, on a lonely, backcountry Oregon road,
in the very early mourning hours. Supernatural effects.
What do you do when a childhood horror follows you into adult life, and that
horror IS your parent?
Horrible story of a possible child serial killer. Graphic horror.
Is Sampson just the old neighborhood eccentric? Or, something more
ingeniously deranged? When IS a parent being "just paranoid", or
is actually experiencing (apparently) unfounded fear for a
reason?
Tale of a college student, used and abused by the IRA while on vacation
with three male friends to Europe. Taking place in Vancouver, British
Columbia, with flashbacks to Ireland, it is a strange tale, and one of my
favorites, with a touch of surrealism involving the Harbinger of
Death (or you decide: IS the Protagonist just experiencing
hypertension at the end?).
Not horror really, but tale of a youth in Search and Rescue/Emergency
Services, who finds a small plane with the frozen father and daughter
inside. Told from the author's point of view in flashbacks. Based on a
true story. Minor horror effects.
Ever read someone's Conscience? Experience the Coming of Knowledge in the
12th Century for a Minion of the Inquisition, as a Judge and Witch Hunter
puts down his thoughts and sins for posterity, in the form of a Mea Culpa
document. A "Mea Culpa" is a document that people used to write their
transgressions down in, as an expulsive deed in order to purge themselves
of their terrible sins. Light horror, not very graphic. This is the
document only. From a much larger story being built into a novel; a larger
view of which is contained within the excerpt below. Stream of
Consciousness.
The encompassing tale which surrounds the "Mea Culpa" document and puts it
in the hands of a modern day, British University Professor, as a forged
document, leading to the demise of his career, his family, and total
depravity as an escaped inmate from a madhouse; a multiple-murderer, who
is looking for his ex-wife and their "bastard" child (a reference to the
"Mea Culpa" document he had forged); the wife's eventual murder; the
daughter's attempted murder, and his ex-best friend's (who is the wife's
new lover); as well as a stream of others). Makes for quite a story.
Graphic horror in Bloody ole' and new, England.
Tale of the creation, from another Perspective. Perception isn't always what
it appears to be, after the fact.
Poor Lord
Ritchie's Answer to a Question He Knever
Knew (Top)
Currently on Rutger Hauer's website in his short story contest (see the section, "Your short stories").
The tale of a member of Royalty, several hundred years ago, and his fall
from sanity. A fiction piece, in three acts. It opens at an inn, with Lord
Ritchie in a drunken state. A humorous monologue, that made a professor of
mine in college strongly desire to do it on stage as a one man play. Some
surreal (or drug induced, or insane) behavior. Act Two takes place in his
room, while he considers reality and his prediciment. Act Three takes
place on his deathbed, with his sister, a Nun, in attendance.
Some graphic and social horror. The final Act, well, you figure it out...
Tale of an ex-CIA operative who hypnotizes his girlfriend into
experiencing bi-sexuality, and her ensuing descent into madness (as well
as his). Based on a true story. Graphic sex/horror.
Tale inspired by the song, about a rich man's bad wife, and his
revenge one morning, after she returns home after another late night out,
with blood on the bumper of her car. Minor graphic horror effects.
The tale of a young boy who had a bad experience and is living with his
relatives. Horror, with little graphic violence. The aim in this piece was
to tell a tale of horror that required graphic violence, without actually
showing the grusome details. Word has it that it was very effective.
