- Euphoria
A project no longer in development for Scorpio Pictures
Full screenplay of a prophet coming over from "beyond." Science
Fiction/Virtual Reality and some very interesting action/adventure and
special effects. This screenplay has been involved with
the 1999 Hollywood Screenwriters' Awards. Ahriman is an ancient Earth
form of the Devil from middle eastern desert relegions, transposed, in the case of this screenplay, in
the form of a good man, misunderstood. His opposite, Ormazd, the
Earth form of goodness, is evil incarnate for our purposes herein.
A young man who graduates from M.I.T. and is hired at a Nuclear Generating
Station. Coincidentally, the one that his father died at due to the mismanagement and greed of the facility's managers. Some surreal
moments and dark humor.
Currently, a work in progress, the seriocomic tale of a famous horror writer:
while on a visit from L.A., he spends it with a married couple who are old
friends. Sharing wine at hearthside in the couple's Seattle home, the
three spend the night drinking and telling each other horror stories,
somewhat in the vein of Lord Byron's night of storytelling so many years
ago, on another continent.During this marathon fearfest, a demon from one
of the writer's stories, summonded by his unfaithful wife and best friend and her voodoo witch doctor, searches the town, looking for him. This serves
as a framed vehicle for several short horror tales, and ends with a
resolution of sorts, of the demon's desires: Does he find the writer and
confront his creator? Why is he looking? Why has he been materialized in
the first place? The demon serves as a bit of fearful, comic relief.
A young boy's touch with Death Incarnate, in the traditional form of
a skeleton in a hooded robe. Dark humor and horror, no graphic violence or
gore. Possibly, if done cleverly, a good vehicle for this script, could
be animation.
An old woman's descent into the horrors of Alzheimer's disease and her
terrifying visions (based on some real Alzheimer's experiences, which are
aided by a sink hole in her back yard). The reality of losing one's
faculties and the mismanagement that can happen by one's caretakers.
Horror from space originally written at the request of Scorpian Productions for a Playboy Channel production. This script was written on spec and
not viewed or picked up for production as were several other scripts offered by other production companies. It is based on an idea for a sequel to
Dan O'Bannon's Lifeforce.
