Jean-Claude Van Damme

[ Back ]
Jean-Claude Van Damme's real name is Jean-Claude Van Varenberg (A.K.A. Frank Cujo). He was born on October 18, 1960 in Berchem-Sainte Agathe, Belgium. Jean-Claude dropped out of school at 16.

Van Damme once claimed that he was the European Kickboxing Champion. No evidence has ever been found to substantiate that claim. However, Jean-Claude Van Damme was a successful karate tournament competitor. Don Wilson once did challenge Van Damme to a $100,000 winner-take-all bout, but Van Damme declined the challenge. In an interview with Van Damme in Black Belt Magazine, it was said that his original style was Shotokan karate.

Fan Comments:
I think Jean-Claude Van Damme is one of the greatest action star in the movie business. He has a style of his own that nobody can duplicate. Besides having a state of the art body, there's a lot more to him than just his good looks. He's talented has you can see, smart, funny, and a hard worker. You can see that he put his all into his acting. Jean-Claude will always be the #1 actor in my book.
